State Board of Banking Review

The State Board of Banking Review considers and determines any applications to establish a bank which are filed with the commissioner of the Department of Banking and Consumer Finance. The Board is also charged with the responsibility of ruling on protested branch bank applications which include commissioner denial and/or public or competitive protests. The Board has the power and statutory authority to adopt regulations which would allow parity between state chartered and national banks. The board has also adopted rules of conduct for their meetings. The Board is comprised of five members, three of which are businessmen who come from each of the states three supreme court districts and two of which are bankers from the state at large.
